responsibles, washes the feet of everyone. Then more basins, pitchers and
towels are placed in the center of the assembly for those who wish to wash the
feet of any others. It is not necessary to kiss the feet of the brothers, but
one may opt to do so on his own decision. Meanwhile, the assembly sings
appropriate songs).
Prayer of the Faithful:
(The President
will introduce this part by asking everyone to speak out their intentions,
while the assembly will support each intention with a common “LORD HEAR OUR
PRAYER” at the end of the individual prayer). The President will end this part

the Lord. The fasting starts at three o’clock in the afternoon of Holy Thursday
and lasts until communion of the Paschal Vigil. The President will tells the
brothers that this is a Sacramental Fasting, which is different from the
Penitential fasting, symbolizing that the Church is mourning because “Her
bridegroom had been taken away.”
We abstain from
all solid food, alcoholic beverages and from smoking cigarettes. Sick persons
follow their doctor’s orders.
The children who
will attend the Paschal Vigil, will also fast by abstaining from Saturday’s
